Finnish companies invited to register for Export Control Forum to be held in Brussels
The European Commission and Estonia, the current Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will organise the traditional Export Control Forum in Brussels on 19 December 2017. This year’s forum will be particularly important because of the Commission’s proposal to update the EU Regulation on export control of dual-use items.
The European Parliament is preparing its position on the proposal, and the Commission will continue handling of the matter in a working group. Representatives of industries and civil society organisations can exercise influence on the discussion about the Commission’s proposal by attending the Forum and voicing their opinions on the matter there. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs encourages Finnish companies to register for the event as soon as possible because the maximum number of participants is limited to 260 persons. Registration takes place on the website of the European Commission.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will also organise an export control clinic for Finnish companies in December in Helsinki. It is scheduled for 15 December, but the date will be confirmed and invitations will be sent later on.
