Description

WHO – World Health Organisation is the lead agency for the humanitarian health cluster, acting as the coordinator for the health sector in humanitarian crisis situations. WHO's humanitarian organization and response model have been renewed as part of the broader organizational reform, which was started in 2011. The main objective is to enhance the efficiency of the humanitarian assistance and link it better with disaster risk reduction and the development of national preparedness systems as part of WHO mainstream work. Finland is a significant supporter of the WHO humanitarian activities and has also supported the capacity building of the WHO humanitarian assistance.
