Ministry for Foreign Affairs follows the situation in Thailand
Several bombs attacks have taken place in popular tourist resorts in Thailand. According to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, no Finnish citizens have been killed or injured in the blasts.
The number of Finnish citizens who have notified the Finnish authorities about their travel arrangements to Thailand has continued to increase. By the evening of 11 August, the number of received travel notifications was 400 and by the morning of 12 August, it had gone up to 700.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has sent text messages and emails to all Finnish citizens who have submitted a travel notification to Thailand. The messages provide information on the blasts and urge Finnish citizens to take proper precautions, avoid the most popular tourist areas and follow the instructions issued by the local authorities and the media.
