The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has launched its crisis organisation in response to the Brussels attacks

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Finland's Embassy in Brussels have activated their crisis organisations in response to the Brussels attacks. The Foreign Ministry has not been reported of Finns among the injured.

Finnish citizens staying in Brussels are urged to avoid public places, to observe the guidelines given by the local authorities and, before travelling, to register at www.matkustusilmoitus.fi to ensure that the Finnish authorities can reach them if necessary. The Finnish citizens who have registered with the Ministry have been contacted already.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises to follow the situation picture primarily on the Facebook pages of the Finnish Embassy in Brussels: https://www.facebook.com/FinnishEmbassyBrussels/The situation is being updated on the Foreign Ministry's social media channels. Public transportation in Brussels in closed. Travelling to Brussels should be avoided until further notice.
