Finland and Uzbekistan signed an amendment to the tax treaty

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Timo Soini and Chairperson of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, Vice-Minister Botir Parpiev signed a protocol amending the tax treaty between the two countries in Helsinki on 8 March.
The purpose of the 1998 tax treaty is to avoid double income taxation and prevent income tax evasion. The protocol now signed updates the article concerning exchange of information in line with the standard in the OECD Model Tax Agreement. The amendment will facilitate Finnish business in Uzbekistan.
