New Ambassador to Dublin and dual accreditations
On Friday 20 November, the President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Jaana Teckenberg to serve as Head of the Embassy of Finland in Dublin, Ireland, from 1 January 2016.
In the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Teckenberg has last served as Director of the Unit for Russia. She has gained experience of Foreign Service positions in Finland’s Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels as well as in the Embassies of Finland in Moscow and London. In 2000–2001, Teckenberg took an International Training Course in Security Policy at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP). In the Ministry, she has held different positions also in the Political Department and in the Department for Press and Cultural Affairs.
Teckenberg joined the Ministry in 1989.
The President of the Republic also decided that Pekka Hukka, Head of the Embassy of Finland in Dar es Salaam, will be accredited to represent Finland also in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and authorised Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Katri Viinikka, who has been appointed to serve as Head of the Embassy of Finland in the Hague, to serve as Finland's representative in the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
