Minister Toivakka to take an export promotion trip to Turkey

Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Lenita Toivakka will make a Team Finland export promotion trip to Ankara from 3 to 5 February 2015 at the invitation of Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci of Turkey.
The delegation led by the Minister includes representatives from 12 enterprises. The visit seeks to promote export projects of the Finnish cleantech industry and to market Finnish bioeconomic expertise. In addition, the visit aims for wide-ranging development of trade relations between the two countries. During the visit, agreements will be concluded on the establishment of an economic and trade commission between Finland and Turkey and on increasing cooperation between the central chambers of commerce of the two countries.
“Turkey’s upcoming major energy investments make this growing economy an even more interesting market for Finnish cleantech and bioeconomic enterprises,” Toivakka states.
During the trip, projects of Finnish enterprises are promoted through high-level meetings and a business networking seminar. In addition to meeting with Minister of Economy Zeybekci, the Minister will meet with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız, Minister of Environment and Urbanization Idris Güllüce, Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs VeyselEroğlu, as well as meeting women entrepreneurs and other representatives of the Turkish Central Chamber of Commerce.
The following enterprises will participate in the export promotion trip: Ahma Environment Ltd, Business Oulu, Oy Halton Group Ltd., iLOQ Ltd, the Central Chamber of Commerce, Metsä Fibre Oy, NISCluster Ltd., Nokia Corporation, Outotec, Pöyry Energy GmbH, Saanio & Riekkola Oy, Stora Enso Oyj and VTT Technical Research Centre Ltd.
