Uses of development cooperation funds

On these pages you can read about programmes and projects that are funded through Finland’s development cooperation appropriations. The projects have a certain duration and objectives, and they may be part of a programme. A programme may include a number of projects that promote the objectives of the programme.

When a decision is made to fund a programme or a project, i.e. it is decided that development cooperation appropriations will be used for it, the information is published on this website. For technical reasons, the list of programmes and projects on this site is still incomplete, but the aim is to present the basic facts about all projects and programmes supported by Finland.

Once the decision on financing has been made, the practical implementation of the project or programme is launched. The duration of the implementation phase depends on the nature of the project or programme. Information on the projects or programmes financed remain on the pages for a year after the financing has ended.

The information includes a description of the project or programme, the website address, the date and sum of the funding decision, the amount of tied aid, the dates and sums of the admittance, the target country, the target region, the objectives, the sector, the type of aid, special target groups, and the funding channel.

Not all data are available for every project or programme. The data also include an e-mail address for obtaining additional information.

On this page you will find the latest programmes and projects being funded. You may also browse programmes and projects on the basis of the target country, the target region, the objectives, the sector, the type of aid, or a special target group.

The instructions for the reader provide more information on the classification of data.

The publication of project data enhances the transparency of development cooperation administration and increases information about where and how Finland’s development cooperation appropriations are used.
