Ambassadorial appointment to Croatia and side accreditations to Costa Rica and Venezuela
The President of the Republic decided on 27 September to appoint Counsellor of Foreign Affairs Timo Rajakangas to the post of Head of the Embassy of Finland in Zagreb, Croatia, as of 14 October 2013.
Rajakangas is moving to Zagreb from the position of Baltic Sea Ambassador, which he has held at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs since 2010. He has previously served as the Ministry’s Head of Personnel Planning as well as in various trade policy positions.
At Finnish missions abroad, Rajakangas has previously served as Head of the Consulate General of Finland in Hong Kong, as Minister Counsellor at the Finnish Embassy in Vienna and in various other positions in Geneva, Tokyo and Hamburg.
Rajakangas joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1985.
The President of the Republic granted side accreditation to Anne Lammila, Head of the Embassy of Finland in Mexico, to also represent Finland in Costa Rica; and to Ilkka Heiskanen, Head of the Embassy of Finland in Chile, to also represent Finland in Venezuela.
