Twinning and TAIEX: September 2012
Finland’s Ministry of Employment and the Economy (TEM) was selected to lead a Twinning project in Kosovo. TEM will develop the administrative capacity of Kosovo’s Ministry for European Integration (EUI). The EUI was founded in 2010, tasked to develop Kosovo’s administration to meet EU criteria. This Twinning project aims to improve the EUI’s capacity to co-ordinate receiving EU aid and supervise its implementation. The project budget is one million euros and it lasts 2 years. TEM will send its senior adviser Marikki Järvinen to act as a resident Twinning advisor in Kosovo.
The Joint Authority for Education in Espoo Region, Omnia, left an offer for a Twinning project to develop the Productivity and Vocational Training Department of Egypt’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour. The selection meeting will be held on 11 October.
There have been numerous TAIEX activities with Finland involved, eg. the Bank of Iceland’s experts’ study visit to the Bank of Finland, as well as a visit to Azerbaijan by an advisor to the Parliamentary Ombudsman.
