Minister Stubb to make an export promotion trip to Indonesia

Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb will go on an export promotion trip to Indonesia on 23–25 January.
The purpose of the trip is to promote business opportunities for Finnish companies in Indonesia and to strengthen ties with one of the emerging economies and global influences. The companies in the delegation accompanying the minister will represent a broad range of sectors, such as energy and the environment, the forestry sector, logistics, manufacturing, and information and telecommunications.
During his visit, Minister Stubb will meet with Minister for Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa, Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Minister of Trade Gita Wirjawan, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik and Minister of Forestry Zulkifli Hasan. The topics of discussion will include global, regional and bilateral issues. Minister Stubb will also participate in a business seminar focusing on opportunities for commercial cooperation, and he will lecture at Paramadina University in Jakarta.
This export promotion trip is carried out in cooperation with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet. An Estonian business delegation will also take part in the trip.
Indonesia is an emerging economy, a member of the G20 and a global political player. The country has considerable market potential. The value of trade between Finland and Indonesia in 2010 totalled 202 million euros. Of this sum, exports accounted for 104 million euros and imports amounted to 98 million euros.
