Evaluation of the Somaliland Health Sector Support (MIDA FINNSOM IV)

The external final evaluation of MIDA FINNSOM IV assessed the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the intervention, as well as generate recommendations for future similar programmes.

The Project Institutionalizing Health Care Sector Development through Temporary Returns of Somali Diaspora Health Professionals (MIDA FINNSOM) is implemented by the IOM and was launched in 2008. It has aimed to contribute to healthcare sector improvement in Somaliland in particular in relation to maternal and child health by improving the capacity of public sector health institutions in Somaliland to provide quality healthcare services. The Somali diaspora experts, particularly the Finnish Somali diaspora experts, are the actors in the capacity building efforts. The external final evaluation of MIDA FINNSOM IV assessed the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the intervention, as well as generate recommendations for future similar programmes.
