Development policy
Development policy is an integral part of Finland’s foreign and security policy. Development policy contributes to the global effort to eradicate poverty through economically, socially and ecologically sustainable development.
Development policy refers to coherent activity in all sectors of international cooperation and national policy that have an impact on the status of developing countries.
The current Development Policy Programme (2012) renews Finland’s development policy and development cooperation to better correspond to the changing environment and future needs and to help countries to free themselves from aid dependency.
